Sanjay Michael continues to turn up the rock ‘n’ roll heat!
Growing up in Malaysia and Australia, and now based in Singapore, the singer-songwriter reintroduces the power and swagger of the golden era of 70s rock.
With thunderous riffs and catchy choruses, his debut album Rocking Into Midnight was released to critical acclaim. Music-News called it “A modern rock masterpiece” and The Big Takeover hailed the “concerted effort to bring rock ‘n’ roll back to its core.”
But one ace was kept up the sleeve – a tough, AC/DC-style freight train of a song called Wall Street Blues that waited for its time. Now its theme about the love of money is sandwiched between two other newly-minted songs about the problems of love. One powerful and sinister, reminiscent of the Rolling Stones. One slow and heartfelt channeling BB King. Both instant old-school electric guitar classics.
The result is a stripped-down, highly focused 3-track EP forged in the studio sessions. With music genres fragmenting and the lack of popular monoculture, Wall Street Blues cuts through and brings Sanjay’s mission of rock for the masses back on track.
